Mods not showing up in game

My mods are not working for the sims even though my mods are enabled, the mods are not zip files or anything like that. I tried both script mods and normal custom content. I know that my mods are in the right folder and put in properly. I have had the sims for around 3 years and have used mods the entire time and never had this problem. I was having this problem on my laptop (not a MacBook if that's relevant) a few months ago and thought I had somehow messed it up but now I am facing this problem on my PC. I have tried restarting the EA app, using the repair option, and app recovery but nothing has worked. I have no idea what to do anymore and just bought new packs earlier thinking this issue was only something on my laptop not also on my PC.
