when an alien sim has a baby, it can be born blue (or purple, green etc..) BUT it doesn't say it's an alien sim? just an average blue human baby? Another issue I'm having with the aliens is - when in alien form, they can't get into their disguise at all. they are alllllways in alien form. for school, work, day care!! it's my legacy save and I'm so many generations in... I've been trying to hold out playing them until the issue is resolved. but I miss them! LOL

With the issue with your sims not able to get into the disguise form, if you use mods/cc,try moving the whole mods folder to another place, delete the localthumbcache.package and then test to see if the issue remains without mods/cc there.
Do you have an alien sim having a baby with another alien sim, or is one parent human? The child of a human and an alien will not be full alien, with no disguise and not all the interactions - basically a blue human baby, as you say.
I used the cheat "cas.fulleditmode" and changed them into aliens myself to try and continue just playing.. and in cas they have an alien form as well as a disguise ..
unfortunately, this didn't work for me ... even with my mods removed my toddler and children sims do not get to use their disguise
