my cc isnt showing up anymore [and more]

(im writing as im trying to solve everything so yeah this will be all over the place) so, ive had the ea app for about 2 weeks now. it was great! all my dlc was there and saves. it was perfect. when...

    thank you for your help, but i wont need it anymore. someone on reddit said to remove the sims 4 folder from the EA folder, and start the game. they said it will make a new sims 4 folder. and it worked! my cc is working and my game is perfect again. thank you for the help, and to everyone else who helped. 🙂 for the future for others who have the same problem, suggest what i just mentioned. it could help someone else. anyways thank you to you and everyone for trying to help me. 🙂

You mentioned that you are using a CC mod manager and later on you mentioned Curseforge. As I understand it, those are external programs, but I don't know for sure since I have never used a mod manager or Curseforge.  What CC mod manager were you using and is it still installed on your computer?  And do you have both your original mods manager and Curseforge installed at the same time? 

And how are your mods and cc organized within your mods folder?  Are they kept in subfolders or are they just all together in the mods folder and not organized in folders?  Edit:  It would be helpful if you added a screenshot of your mods folder that shows how you are organized and shows the path to your mods folder at the top.

The reason I ask is because there was a problem with one of the popular mod managers reported last October.  I do not know if it has been fixed yet but what happened was that it would cause the game to not see any mods or CC installed in subfolders that were not installed by the manager.  What I am thinking is that if you still have the earlier mod manager you were using still installed, that might be the problem.  So, if you do, you can try uninstalling whatever it is to see if that clears up your problem.  Or you might want to try updating it to see if that will fix the problem.  This is a guess since you said that none of your mods or CC was showing up.

Another thing that has been causing mods and CC to disappear and or not show up in the game is the syncing of cloud drives.  So, if you have Onedrive or iCloud active, you might want to exclude your Sims 4 user folder from syncing with the cloud.  Then make sure that your mods and CC are located on your computer rather than in the cloud.

read time happening here.
so i uninstalled mod manager and it still didnt show up, and they did infact update it when it broke a few months back. the thing is i could see my CC in that mod.
im gonna uninstall curseforge

(also curseforge is recommended by EA. they say its the safest way possible to install mods.)

~ 10 minutes later ~
still cant see my cc/mods. fyi i have the mods list popup enabled. and its empty. yet in the photo of my mods folder its full. 

also i do have sub folders but i dont put script mods in them. and since all of this i got rid of the sub folders within the mods folder.

and i dont have my cloud synced with my computer at all. so its not synced to the sims. i have no idea how this happened. is it a bug of the game??? is anyone else having this issue? or have in the past. im legit so confused. like in the past ive made CC. im very versed in the mods/cc! and i still am so clueless. ☹️

    Did you check if this is the mods folder the game uses like I wrote?

    Also check that Mods and CC is enabled in the game settings. Every time there is an update they get disabled.

    The path I see in your pic is the correct one so the game should be looking in the right place.  One thing that hasn't been mentioned is deleting the localthumbcache file.  Try that and see if it helps.  That file needs to be deleted whenever you move large amounts of CC in and out of the mods folder.  It holds the thumbnails of all the items in CAS and the build catalog.  Deleting it forces the game to generate a new one and that does seem to fix issues sometimes.

    A couple of other things you can check.  Check your Library to see if it has what it should in it.  Also open a save and go into a household to see if the game is working and will load your saves.  Do not save when you exit!!! 

    And that makes me think of something else.  When you look in CAS, is your CC showing there?  Same with the build catalog.  Or is the CC only missing on the sims and lots when you started to play. One mistake a lot of people make when they reenable the CC and script mods buttons in Gameplay Options after an update or patch is, after hitting the apply button (people forget do that a lot too) is to save and exit.  That will wipe out all CC used in a save.  You should never save before exiting then.  Is it possible that you did that??
