My mods folder is not showing up in finder

Danireadsxo This folder contains the game itself, not the user data. You can't search for "Sims 4" to find the user folder; you'll need to manually open Documents > Electronic Arts to see it.
Do not make a Mods folder yourself, and definitely do not make it here. The game won't read a Mods folder in the game data, and a Mods folder in the user folder may not work. There is probably already a folder in the correct location, but if not, enable mods in the game options and check again.
