My Sim isn't doing anything I tell it to.

I only started this save a day ago and I've never played a sims game before, I accidentally left my sim to it's own devices and came back to it with critically low hygene, sleep and hunger. 

I've been trying for hours to get it to eat, shower, go to the toilet, sleep but it won't listen to me. It cancels the command a second after I make it, it's been standing in the living room watching tv the entire time. Yes, I turned autonomy off and it did not do anything.

I don't know if this is a common issue and I do not know how to fix it.
