My sims 4 game is unable to start

I'm back here again...

Earlier this week I posted a topic on not being able to find my sims 4 mod folder I got some help and I found it in documents under my one-drive I have downloaded a good variety of mods and CC and my game has been running smoothly but for some reason my sims 4 game is saying unable to start because something is missing or damaged first try to remove mods and if that doesn't work try to launch it with origin client I don't know how to get to origin client and I can't remove my mods because than there would be no point to downloading sims on my laptop anyway I'm really confused because on console I never had to do all this tech stuff. I have been having a lot of fun playing with mods and having a variety of choices to dress my sims with as well, please tell me I can fix this without losing all my mods.

UPDATE: I put all my mods and CC into one folder and  put it in documents alone, my sim literally has no clothes because I used only CC literally her skin was CC I put the mods and CC back and I wanna see if it runs I have the worst luck so I doubt it but I still am in need of desperate help!!

  • @072913Grace  The "unable to start" error means, in your case at least, that the problem was one or more files in your Mods folder.  So removing that folder was the right move, but it also removed all that content from the game.  It's not surprising your sim would be missing all her cc clothes: the game was no longer loading that content.

When you moved the Electronic Arts folder, you moved all your Sims 4 user data to a location where the game can't find it anymore.  The files should still be intact though, and you can restore them.

The first step here is to use the 50/50 method to test your mods and custom content to see which files prevent the game from working.  You can remove those files, and only those, and keep the rest.  Then restore your saves and see whether you can play normally.

  • I already made a post about this but I moved the Electronic art folder and sims 4 folder inside of it to desktop and my game launched except all my saved games are gone and I don't know if it because I put ally my mods in one folder or what because I have mods put into the mods folder and mods are not showing in the game??
