my sims 4 game wont run with any mods

I have been playing Sims 4 for nearly a year now and my mods have been running fine until this last week or so and whenever i try to run the game a notification pops up saying "unable to start: cannot start because game data is missing or damaged, if you have mods installed please remove them and try again, if not please repair or reinstall the game"

i have tries uninstalling and reinstalling but that has not worked, and i have tried repairing too but still hasn't done anything. ibhave also tried removing mods and adding the ones i know are fine back but no mods are working at all when trying them

i am at a loss now lol

  • @KarmaReign  Please remove the entire Mods folder and delete localthumbcache.package.  Start the game to create a new Mods folder, quit, and download a fresh copy of one mod known to be updated, not simply declared "fine" but one that actually has a new version for the current patch.  Test only that mod and let me know whether you get the same error.

If you still get the error, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Download a fresh copy of a different updated mod and test that, but only that.   Let me know how it goes.

@KarmaReign  I understand that you've checked your mods, but have you specifically downloaded a fresh copy of a mod to test?  It's possible that your mod files themselves have been corrupted, which is why it's important to check with a new copy in a clean Sims 4 folder.
