My Townie Teens Don't Age?

Hello!
So, here is my problem:
I've recently been playing a legacy save in which some of the NPC teens don't age up. I am currently on the 4th generation and I show up to Copperdale and sims that attended high school with my sim's grand-mother are still there, living their best teen life, 87+ days into their teenage years.

I have aging turned on for everyone, NPC and playable characters.

Weird part is, everyone else ages up. Some teens even do, and it is impossible to predict which ones won't. The rest of the aging cycle goes perfectly well, and I do fix their age by fiddling with MCCC. It is just annoying that some of them don't get to live out their lives and it messes with my save's story progression ☹️

I have MC Command Center and UI Cheats installed, and both are up to date.

I also recently installed TOOL to grab some tombstones outside an apartment, but this problem appeared before I did.

I play on windows 11, my PC is a MSI gaming PC, so I know it meets all the requirements, and my game is up to date. However I am playing in the most recent version of the Simsie save so I don't know if this could be what's affecting it.

Thank you so much for your help, and sorry for posting this in the wrong section of the forum before!

  • Honestly it was keeping the original school and not replacing it that helped! I also tried graduating early with my sims so I didn't attend graduation to try and glitch it, but it worked regardless!

I'm really not sure what helped, but in case it is keeping the OG school, I won't be downloading custom schools 🙂

I haven't added a custom school to any of my saves. I even tested this twice on a fresh save with vanilla and they still wouldn't age up.

However i did find a way to make them age up.

If you set them to played they seemed to instantly age up, which means in theory if you set every household to played it should age as normal, even if it is a chore. (make sure to set played households to unlimited! Trust me, there's a lot of them to go through)

I'm not sure why this is the case, and I'm certainly hoping it is a bug and not a "feature".

  • Went to play my high school years save when I noticed Wolfgang Munch was a student. His little brother Lucas is already young adult and for some reason he was still a teen. I checked around school and most of the other students were at 37/24 or 50/24 days for example. (My age setting with MCCC is 24 days) I have noticed that all of the affected teens were homeless and that teens that live in a house seem to be fine. The issue is that HSY creates homeless teens/families to fill roles and its immersion breaking that sims' younger siblings are now older than them and homeless teens can never age up. I added one of the homeless families (with 2 affected teens) to my played households and loaded back to lot they were on with my sim and they both aged up,  but this fix shouldn't be necessary.

@NayaMasters Thank you, you confirm what I said above : only homeless sims are concerned.

Do someone know how to move this topic to the "Bug Reports" section ?
This issue really don't seems to be mod related, and may have more visibility on the other section
  • I know I know. Reviving a dead thread is a sin and must be condemned, but I'm still having this problem in September 2023.

I know it might make things better if I bring something new to the table (e.g., share my experience with this bug, or provide a solution that doesn't involve sacrificing anything.), but I don't really have anything new. All of my experiences are similar to the above posts.

(and yes I know about the "Set everyone as Played Households" solution, but I have several households that I DON'T want MCCC to mess with, so I have my MCCC set to "Unplayed Households Only", Setting those households to "Played" makes them unable to have things happen to them.)

And about the moving posts to bug reports, what I'm guessing is that it's up to the administrator of this forum to do that.

(Disclaimer: I tend to be overly dramatic when I have problems)
