New intro screen: no custom content?

So having gone into and out of the game a few times, saved a few times, having re-enabled custom content, it seems custom hair and/or custom clothes do not show on the intro screen? So I end up with a bald sim or a sim in the 'default' underwear on the intro screen before you click 'resume'? 

All my custom content works just fine in the game itself - it just won't show up in the intro screen where you click 'resume' to continue.

Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.
