I'm really frustrated, I love this game, and I've been playing it since the day the Sims 4 launched... and there are problems after problems every two or three updates... I had just started creating my families again after it was thrown because of the adventure expansion. And now after hours and hours of creating families after families I go in and all my Sims no longer have any cc on them... please everyone fix this problem, I have a ton of mods and now there's nothing left
I updated and enabled custom content and a fraction of what I have appears in the game. I do not use script mods at all. This save only has CAS custom content. It is mostly hair and clothing that are not appearing in game. Everything is still in my mods folder. Do we need to re-route or rename our folders? What is happening? This needs to be addressed with swiftness, the sims reddit is melting down. You're gonna alienate the entire player base if this isn't fixed.
After installing the most recent update for The Sims 4, I noticed that none of my custom content or mods are functioning anymore. I have already checked my settings to ensure that mods are enabled, but unfortunately the issue persists.
My game updated today (automatically even tough I have turned this setting off) and when I opened it, at the start up menu it flashed a few of my expansions packs as if I had just installed them for the first time which I found quite strange. When I loaded my save file, all of my mods were not showing up which didn't surprise me at first as an update occurred. I went to my settings, ticked to enable mods and restarted my game.
When my game relaunched, none of my mods showed up, despite my folder being fine: no outdated mods, no files in the wrong folder etc. I played my game less than a week ago without zero issues.
When I go to my settings, the games recognises all of my files, however they aren't showing up in game. My sims are either pitch black or bright pink and you cannot see any details other than their eyes. I reloaded my game again and went into CAS, and only five files are showing up which again makes zero sense.
Usually when files are removed, the game will say: "One or more create a sim items have been removed. The items may not be installed on your computer or the EA account that is currently logged in does not own these items" then number the amount of items removed, however this time it isn't showing anything that.
I also cannot play my game what so ever, I cannot click on anything. In Live mode I can pause/unpause and time will go by, Sims will do their own thing but I cannot command anything, I can't right/left click on anything.
I have repaired my game via the EA app, cleared my cache, but the issue still persists. I have also tried removing my Mods folder completely which solves the issue of being able to click on anything, but none of the individual folders seem to work when I do the 50/50 method. I've tried adding just one singular mod into my game at a time and it still does not work.
That's what I'm saying!! I asked very nicely over an hour ago if there was any sort of update on the time estimation for this supposed "fix." Crickets. However, if this was an issue with their new Marketplace, I bet they would've either rolled back the update or released an immediate auto-fix.
At this point, also as a longtime simmer who started with sims 1, whether or not this was deliberate, I am still fuming and this is unacceptable. This is an absolute catastrophic oversight that shouldn't happen. This is EA, a multi-billion dollar company, and I KNOW they have the resources to not only hire people, but pay and treat them well, and assemble a system that catches disasters like this BEFORE they roll out to the community.
This company continues to burn their own legacies and it blows my mind. As someone else said, we are not your beta testers. And we vote with our wallets.
