No rental income and cannot save game

Sims 4 rent - can’t earn money- says I don’t own rentals - won’t save anything! I’ve tried every trick including reinstalling the game and everything - I even built normal houses with no extras and the game just won’t save or anything! Please help so I can enjoy this game ☹️
