Nonsensical scientific tasks for scientists.

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

Don't be angry, but these are not tasks for scientists.

Freezing colleagues with a beam, or changing their clothes, sending them to sleep, with the help of a beam, and constantly harming them. These are not tasks for scientists. These are tasks for a bad people. I don't do this type of task. And i don't even want to. The problem is, that thanks to these nonsensical tasks, my career progression has been radically slowed down, and that's not fair.

  • @elisnmiami Then don't do them. There ARE players who want to be bad boys or girls.

There are a lot of other tasks... Transform items, Prevent abductions, Gardening (when it decides to WORK...), fishing, Building a rocket, serums like Spark Drive, Fixer's Luck, Slimify, Synthetic food... and dozens of others.

Do those instead. Noone's forcing your sim to be a bad girl.
  • However, I wrote that I do not do them. But when I go to work with my sim and the first three tasks are for bad sims, or they are meaningless, then I don't progress in my career that day. The next day the sim goes to work and again the same tasks. Sometimes are do two tasks and it's over and that's not enough. And that's what's not fair. Why should my sim be punished for wanting to be good sim. The tasks should be on the day fairly divided. I know I can go experimenting there or make potions. Here he goes tasks that should move me forward in my career.

@elisnmiami  No, I know what you mean, because I don't like doing mean interactions in the Sims.  (I'm wholesome content, sorry.) I've done the Master of Mischief aspiration twice without being mean.  (LOL!)

I won't freeze my coworkers, but I do have them change into formal wear, etc. (BTW, the Simray tasks are just super repetitive.) I think it's ridiculous and not science-y but I want to get promoted, so there you are. I'm also kind of uncomfortable with "drink rose perfume serum to become incredibly flirty and then hit on your coworkers." Also, gossiping is a work task? If you insist *eyeroll*.

I think it ties back to how people feel about scientists in the US.  If you search the gallery for scientists it seems like most of them are evil, erratic geniuses. The game definitely encourages you to lean into the mad scientist trope. I just invent cool things and look for ET, yo.
