Other simmers folders

Hi, is it even okay that when you ask someone to share their cc, they ask you to pay for the folder? Just thinking because this happened to me. I know that creators can keep cc behind paywalls for a while but from other simmer this seems wrong.

  • @OneGameJB The only legitimate use of this structure is if the CC is available free as individual downloads but there's a fee for the convenience of having a single download for all of it. Some creators offer that to Patrons.

If it's a collection of CC from various creators, it's not only notokay, it's a really, really good way to end up with broken content or worse.

@luthienrising It's some random simmer's folder, so not a creator. She made a tiktok of what she has downloaded and asking 10€ for the folder :/

@OneGameJB Definitely not ok, she's making money off content someone has spent hours making with care and offering it free to the world, no better than a scalper

Bad on several levels. One, a bad idea for you the potential user because using some random compilation of cc- how do you know if all the contents are updated? You can harm your game if it is not. Only creators have incentive to keep their content updated.

Two, this person is a parasite on the labor of original creators who actually make this art,  so very unethical IMO. Lots of people offer creations with other people's cc that they will include FOR FREE, or else just a list with links for you to download yourself.
