Oversized crops won’t grow bigger than small?

Hi all!

I just downloaded Cottage Living and started trying to grow oversized crops. They’re growing fine, but won’t grow bigger than the small size. Am I missing something? I’ve been tending to the plants and adding fertilizer each day. I have a few rabbits and the flock of birds also helping with gardening.
Thanks for your help!

  • That’s because grow fast does exactly that - matures them fast. It doesn’t affect quality or size.

Look for hyper growth fertilizer instead. And have your Sim “encourage plant growth” - that might help too.

  • Which fertilizer are you using? There’s special growth fertilizers that will increase crop size. Vitality fertilizer only increases quality.

  • Thank you for responding! I have been using the Grow Fast fertilizer. The game was only allowing me to use it for 2 days before saying the crops were ready to harvest, but they were all still small.

  • Oh my goodness haha that makes sense. Where can I get the hyper growth fertilizer? Is it sold at the garden stall near the fair?

You can buy it from the stall, You can get it as rewards for doing tasks and you can get it as gifts from befriended birds and rabbits.Cleaning out sheds and chicken coops can also give you some.
