Photoshop CS6 on Mac DDS file plugin for recolors

I just started to learn how to recolor. I am working on some base game shoe recolors. I can't seem to figure out how to save it as a .dds file. I have a Mac and Photoshop CS6. I know I need a plugin b...

I read somewhere that I could use .png, but was not sure about it. Glad to know that .dds is not long need it.
