NennaRC I will repeat, the game does not autonomously marry sims. Marriage must be player initiated. It does not happen in the background. So, it has to be a mod doing it if you are getting sims that are married. While you said you don't have a mod that marries sims, you didn't say you don't use mods. I know of at least one mod, MCCC, that has options that, depending on your settings, will marry sims in the background as part of its story progression among other things. There are probably others. So, if you are using mods, check your settings or remove whatever mod is causing autonomous marriages to occur in your game.
Hope this helps.
I don't use MCCC.

NennaRC Some mod you use must be doing this. There's no game function for it, and if this were a game bug you can be sure yours wouldn't be the only report. If you want some help narrowing down possible candidates, I'm happy to look at what you've got. Please see the last post in How to Use Mods and CC for how to generate a mod list file that you can paperclip to a reply here.

But it isn't, it must be the settings I mentioned.

NennaRC You can test whether mods are causing Sims to get married without you doing anything in-game that makes it happen by renaming the Mods folder and deleting the localthumbcache file. Then play (without saving, or do a "save as" for a test file) to see what happens. As suggested, I'm happy to look at a list of what mods you have installed.
