Re: [CC CAS PART RELATED] Save Error 532

After some investigation and some guess work on my part, I am pretty certain I know the cause of the error. Or at least the primary cause of the error that I've encountered most often.

The way Trendi inventory works is that whatever CAS Parts (the items in CAS provided to you) are currently available at the time you save, get written into the save file. The problem is that, from what I can tell (the exact size I am unsure of as there's no easy way to tell), CC CAS part IDs are all 64 bit (at least, if they are made according to "standard") and 64 bits is too big -- the game expects something no bigger than 32 bits (but it may even be 16 bits, as I said, I cannot tell the exact size) -- and thus the save operation fails.

Now you may be asking, "how come everyone with CC isn't getting this error then?" and that's a very interesting question! I wasn't sure myself until recently. Any CC with any of the new Fashion rarity tags WILL BREAK THE TRENDI SYSTEM AND CAUSE THE GAME TO FAIL TO BE ABLE TO SAVE. Because these tags are new with the patch, not a lot of CC will have any of these tags, but there are some items already going around with some of new tags, and they're causing the current issue. (I also know of a tutorial showing people how to add the tag to CC, which means that the problem may spread...)

Ultimately, it is up to EA if they find this issue problematic enough to "fix" by extending the allowable bit size of the CAS parts when being written to a save file or not. As far as finding the CC that is causing the issue -- to remove it at least for the time being, or to remove the tags yourself -- it will most likely be something dated from after the patch.
