This is where the Game Options showed the location: /Users/Jinju.W./Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Recorded Videos/

One Drive Folder shows May 3

There are no folders in the OneDrive for TS4

The Sims 4 folder in Documents shows May 1 but Mods folder inside shows May 3

I've already reset the game to factory mode by taking out the original TS4 folder from Documents.

I've also repaired the game through Origin and there's nothing wrong with gameplay.

@jinjuginger Okay. That rules out one likely issue. But I'm also a bit confused about the problem. Can you answer these questions for me so I can get my head around it?

    For CAS Items

    • In a new save, does all the CC appear in the CAS catalogue?
    • In that new save, if you put the CC on a Sim, does it show in Live mode?
    • When the CC isn't showing in Live mode, is the Sim wearing it, or are they missing that piece of clothing? Is it showing up in the Sim avatar in the bottom left?
    • For any CC that isn't working, have you checked the original download page to make sure you have any additional required files, like meshes?
    • Are there particular things the CC that isn't showing up in Live mode has in common? For example, is it all older CC? Or all from a particular creator, or a particular category of CC?

    For Build Items

    • Do you use TwistedMexi's BuildBuy mod? If so, have you re-enabled CC in the filter?

    Of note

If you ever saved without having CC enabled, Sims will no longer be wearing their CC, and the build/buy items will have been removed from builds. You will need to either load an earlier version of your save or put the items back.

In a new save, CC appears in the CAS catalouge.

In a new save, CC shows in Live mode and shows up in the avatar in the bottom left.

In a new save, there is only one CC item available in build mode.

All the CCs I downloaded have the proper meshes and are in the correct format. I also removed personal folders like "Eyebrows" and "Tops" so the files are just in the Mod folder.

Every old CC I've had in the game does not show up. With the tester sim in the game I've been playing in previously (not the new save), the original CC she had on was all gone so I went back into CAS. I replaced everything with new CC and it shows up in Live mode. But the "new CC" files were originally on my desktop, I didn't download new ones. All the old CCs that are gone in the world were files I've used since 2017. I do have a lot of CC but I make sure to put them in batches to test before I play. I had the Sims 4 Tray Importer downloaded and used that for a couple of years to find the broken CCs.

I used TwistedMexi's Better Expectations mod but I removed it and only have McCC in the folder. I also regularly updated the mods I used every time there was an update.

CAS cc is working fine with new saves, however, all my Build Mode cc is gone. I used to have a Furniture folder in my Mods but it is not there anymore. I never deleted it and I never took it out since it's not on my desktop. In-game, it says "# of build mode items were removed" and "# of cas items were removed" when I had the Better Exepections installed but it doesn't show up anymore.

I make sure to manually save in between if I play for a long time.

I added a new CC build mode file to the Mods folder but it disappeared after I placed it and an alert popped up. I stayed in game and the sims kept trying to eat food from the fridge but the plate would drop to the floor and the sims would t pose and stand still. The same alert would pop up from McCC. I did this on a saved game, not a new game.

@jinjuginger That sounds a lot like broken CC. Could you please take any MCCC error files generated today, and either put them in a .rar archive and post them or zip them up and post them to an online file-sharing service like Drive or Dropbox and post a link to them?

@jinjuginger Thank you 🙂 You've got a Sim named Carson Cortez who is trying to use a base-game sofa but unable to do so (this was the reason the MCCC last exception was generated). That might just be because he can't get to it. But it also might be an indication that you have broken build-mode items somewhere.

The CAS CC issue you describe just sounds like Sims got saved with CC disabled at some point.

You've got some duplicate files listed in the MCCC list of mods; they're noted in red there to help you find them and delete a file. A lot of that is build/buy. Delete those, then try a 50-50 test of your build-buy CC. Drag the whole Mods folder out, let the game create a new one, and add half the build-buy CC (and no CAS CC) to test it. Full instructions are here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mod-CC-Issues/INFO-How-to-Use-Mods-and-CC/m-p/13439356#FiftyFifty

I've figured out the duplicated CC files and I've done the batch test on the rest of my CC. I added the CAS CC after as well and there seem to be no errors. How do I change it so that my old save shows in the game? Do I delete recent Saves files or is there another alternative to fix it? Thank you so much for your help so far, by the way. I really appreciate it.

The only saves that are in the recover option are from May 1-3 so I can't recover any earlier saves. I also don't have any save files from 2022-2023 for some reason. I didn't play a lot but I remember my last activity date on Origin was in 2023.

The thread you linked previously says if there is no other recover file I have to manually put back the CC. Is there another way to retrieve old files that aren't in the recover tool?

@jinjuginger Unfortunately, not unless you saved them somewhere else on your computer or online. You could try searching your computer for files ending in ".save" or ".ver0".
