Re: clicking on pop up freezes game

@idontmccall What security software are you using ? Have you tried turning off the mod pop-up (known to cause long loading) and see if that makes a difference ?

@idontmccall Your antivirus program. What are you using.

You can turn the pop-up off in the game options (and I think there's also a check mark on the actual window you can check saying you don't want it to pop-up)

Do you still get the pop-ups ?

it’s not a mod pop up it’s like an expansion pop up. i’m not sure what antivirus program i have or if i have one i have to check when i get home. it looks like this and i didn’t have the horse ranch pack at first but eventually when i did buy it it’s still popping up and taking forever to close.

@idontmccall Have you cleared your complete cache or refreshed the whole game folder? That will make Sims forget that you already saw these notices. It shouldn't take long to clear them, though. If you haven't refreshed the whole game folder, though, doing so once might clear a glitch about this. Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop. Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options. Then copy files out of old folders into new ones, but not replacing any new files the game itself made.

@idontmccall I understand that but you said the mod pop-up comes after that. You seem to have two issues hence two questions:

    - lags: possibly the mod popup
    - Pop up for the packs: what's your anti virus program.

If the pop-ups don't go away, it's often an issue that the game can't properly write to the file where it's marked that you read it, possibly because of antiviurs program is blocking it.

You can also try deleting the ReticulatedSplinesView program but then you need to click through all the windows again + need to remark all build issues. Also if it's the antivirus blocking, you'd run into other issues as well so it's best to go to the source. I'm also not entirely sure if the info for those particular pop-ups are saved there or somewhere else.

EDIT: Here's some other thread with the same issue: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-and-Mod-CC-Issues/Unable-to-close-this-stupid-popup/m-p/12927139 and https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-and-Mod-CC-Issues/New-patch-pop-up-won-t-close-freezes-in-main-menu/m-p/11512535 .. maybe the suggestions there help too.
