Re: Lights not Working

@bornebambi

Being Capt. Obvious here, but:

Is the issue happening in both live mode and build mode or just in one or the other?

Are the lights in that room turned on, off or auto?  And are they set for full lighting i.e. not dimmed?

Do the lights work in every other room?

Is the problem happening at only a certain time of day?

One thing that can keep the lights off is an opening in the walls somewhere that keep the room from being seen as an enclosed room.

A couple of pics of the build would help us help you figure it out.

And if you're willing to upload the lot to the Gallery, I or another helper will take a look at it to see if we can figure out what's going on.  Just reply here with the name of the lot and your Gallery userid if different than the one you use here (bornebambi).

Hope this helps.

    Both modes, whether on, off, or auto. In live mode they started turning on when no one was in the room and off when someone was in the room on the Auto setting. All the other rooms work. All of the walls exist, one is a half wall, but the lights weren't working from the beginning. Screenshots won't upload unfortunately but I can definitely upload to the gallery, it's under bornebambi.

    Is it the Inner Circle lot?  That's the one I'm going to download since it has today's date on it.

    And for some reason, screenshots taken in game are too big to upload here usually.  You have to convert them to another format like jpg.  Sometimes, you can get one using the computer's printscreen button.  On windows, you hold the windows key and hit print screen.  If you want a snippet, then it's the windows key and shift S.  Not sure how it works on Mac.

    Edit:  Thanks to @puzzlezaddict for the command for a snippet on a Mac is:  cmd Shift 4.

    Hope this helps.

    Ok, downloaded the lot and figured out what's going on.  It's the half wall in the kitchen area.  Because it's not a full wall, the game is seeing the living room as part of the outside.  That's why the lights in the living area are acting like you said at night too.  So, you'll need to change your layout in that area to get the lights to work like they do in the other rooms.  I suggest you make it a full wall and just move the bar outside and put in kitchen counters. Change the one with the sink in it to a regular counter as well.  Or if you can live with the lighting being wonky now that you know why, you could just play it as it is.  Your choice.

    Btw, nice trick with using the miniaturized counters under the bar to keep the bar stools connected to get around the half wall blocking them off.  I would never have thought of that.  Overall, it's a really nice build.

    Hope this helps.
