Re: [MOD RELATED] Sims all get same name in CAS

I have seen dozens of people that do not have mods that are having the same issues as I am with the create a Sim. This is a bug in their update, not a mod’s issue as I said I’ve already removed my mods and the game itself wouldn’t even load. I have done every single troubleshooting I could and lost every single save that I’ve had because of this update. I’ve been playing since it came out and almost every major update breaks my games, whether I have mods or not.

I had to completely start over and that was the only way I could even get into the game Now the names are all messed up in create a SIM and it keeps giving all Sims, not just teens the same name.

I appreciate the help and advice, but I have tried all of it

  • I am also experiencing this.

I took out all script mods and am still experiencing this.

Please let me know if you figure this out!

Also, all names and pronouns appear like this:

@rockumentaryI encountered the same error after purchasing the new DLC. It's quite disappointing because everything was working fine before I bought the DLC, mods are updated.

@rockumentary Your UI issue will be mod-related, but script mods are gameplay-related, not UI related. Start at Broken/Updated Mods & CC  and assume *ANY* mod could be a problem. For more support on that, please do that in a separate thread. This thread is just for trying to solve the names changing problem.

how many of your sims are like this? for me it was one (hopefully) It guess more then one for you. I ended up replacing that one sim with an older version from the gallery and deleting the corrupted one. but I can also get a recovery save with the corrupted sims and remove script mods and see what happens.

annnd I think I removed all of them and nothing. my sim, at least is just busted, he's been replaced by a clone so at the end of the day no harm- actually lot's of harm done I may have "fixed it" but I'm no longer letting my game get updates instantly because this was not fun.

I would recommend replacing the corrupted household with a gallery save of them if possible or recover a save from before corruption (that option wasn't viable for me) and then just cheating back their relationships.

I thought or so I heard that this glitch was caused by one of the recent patches, editing a sim in cas full edit mode with more then three traits, which he did way more then three actually. but that has little to do with mods because you can have more then three traits in the base game and use cas full edit mode in the base game. even so it's an insane amount of work to remove all cc from the game let alone the fact that if I do anything incorrectly it'll probably ruin everything. I pretty much only use cc furniture and cas items and I really sounds like a pain to deal with when I have a solution I am at least satisfied with. every issue I have ever had has been solved without removing all cc and mods. that being said if it was caused by what I think caused it EA needs to test their game with much more care. they can't control how mods break but they can control house features from the base game do.

The only reason I'm still in this tread is to give tips to any one who's in a situation like mine but thank you for the pointers.

@PicklePizza6 You're thinking of the game bug that started around Growing Together. That one was patched earlier and was universal. Right now, we have no evidence that this is univeral and very little in the way of reproducability or testing. Nobody has come in who doesn't have mods/CC, so it could be mod-related. So far it's a very small handful of people being affected, and all had mods when the issue started. What we can't see is reproducability that ties it to a mod, and different people have different ways it went away.

If you see more people with this issue, please direct them here.

Okay, I am still unsure how to fix it as I have played it without mods and am still getting this bug. I even tried a new game, not the old save.
