Re: My downloaded CC isn't showing in my game!

@hanuIa The two most common causes we see for this are these:

1. You haven't got mods/CC enabled in Settings. Double check that. Some antivirus programs need exceptions added for this setting to stick, too.

or

2. You're using something like OneDrive or you tried to move where game info is stored and have ended up with two folders called "Mods", and the one you're trying to add CC to isn't the one the game is seeing. To see where the folder your game actually sees is, see the instructions here: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

Okay so I created a new Mods folder and moved all my CC there and it seems to be working now (when I open the game all my furniture and wallapers and all are back so I'm assuming the makeup and skin overlays etc. are working too) but the CAS isn't working again, it's just loading for hours and hours and the game just freezes.

  • @hanuIa Your new issue could be broken CC/mods. You can try starting with the Broken/Updated Mods list, but you might just need to remove the CAS and add it back in gradually, testing as you go. Any time you remove some, delete the file called localthumbcache.package. There's info on testing and some other info you might find worth skimming through in How to Use Mods and CC .
