Re: My sims 4 game won't launch on my computer, it just doesnt start! Help!

I just got a new laptop and downloaded my game. I was able to open the game fine when it first downloaded but now I am having the same issues as above. I have done what was recommended still not having any luck. Help please!

  • @brittanyd1989  Your dxdiag, and thanks for providing one, doesn't list any Sims 4 crashes.  This could be because the game is being blocked from starting rather than crashing.  So please set exceptions in your antivirus for TS4_x64, TS4_DX9_x64, and TS4_Launcher_x64; or the entire Bin folder they're in.  Set an exception for EADesktop.exe as well.

If this doesn't help, is OneDrive running on your computer?  It could be a problem whether you deliberately use it or not.  To test, right-click the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of your screen, either immediately visible or in the Tray (^ icon), and select Pause Syncing.

If neither of these helps, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to launch Sims 4, specifically after doing the above.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

  • @puzzlezaddict I was able to try everything except the antivirus exceptions. I couldnt find how to add those my Mcafee. I uninstalled it, just to see if that was the issue. It still wont launch and I cant figure out why. I disabled onedrive as well. I attatched the new dxdiag which looks like there is an issue with ts4 now. I also have the reliability monitor. THANKS
This page wont let me attach anything to the reply. Says I may not have access.

@brittanyd1989  You should be able to copy and paste the Reliability Monitor info.  But before doing that, please repair the game again, now that McAfee is gone.  If you still can't play, I'd like the corresponding error in the Reliability Monitor.

  • I never thought to check my mods I copied from my old computer. I was able to launch the game after I took out my most recent mods. There is a still some glitches with loading, which Im not too sure about since those same mods worked fine on my old computer. THANKS for your help.
