Re: Sims 4 infinite loading screen

Whenever I load in a saved game it's stuck on the infinite loading screen whenever I add a script mod. I have repaired, uninstalled and reinstalled, reset my computer... I even did a factory reset and nothing works. I assume it's a bug in the latest update. Please fix it.

I’m having the same problem and I’ve done this and other things and my game still won’t pass the loading screen /:

@ErykaNeko Mac/PC is not relevant for this issue, and neither are core mods. They also have the issue with ALL script mods, so it's unlikely to be a broken mod causing this. They also already did a game repair.

  • @DucksSauce Script mods are working. Try a clean folder and new save:

    1. Exit Sims 4 then drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
    2. Launch Sims 4 and reset your Options.
    3. Start with New to test if your issue recurs.
    4. If that works, exit and copy files out of your old Saves folder into the new Saves folder. Important: Don't just copy the old folder! You want to use the newly created folders.
    5. Launch Sims 4 and use Load to select an older save to test.

You can copy stuff back in later. But the new save is an important test here.

@DucksSauce Hiya.. sorry to read this is an issue your having.
No, it's not a common bug for most players.
Can you tell us if Mac or PC?
You say it's limited to script mods.. have you:
    Deleted thumbcache
Started a new game with a test sim? IF that is working is it only the old saves?
    Have you checked here?
    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mod-CC-Issues/Broken-Obsolete-and-Updated-Sims-4-Mods-1-104-Jan-16-2024-Game/td-p/13400494
And Deaderpool's Discord for an expanded genre list of broken mods?
Verified your core mods are up to date?
Older script mods can and do often break saves or new games.
A good rule of thumb, script mods should be removed and only the latest update added when upgrading.
If none of that helped, you really need to remove mods / trays / saves to desktop and delete thumbcache
Repair game with the EA APP
Then start a new game with a new sim to test.
Then when working, you can add mods back 50 / 50 until you find the issue or all is well.
Then add trays / saves back.
    Happy simming.
