Re: Sims Gain Skills Too Fast

Thank you for your response. I tried repairing the game. Still happening.

No lot traits, no.

But now that I think about it, this Sim has the following skill boosts: Top-Tier Toddler, Whiz Kid, and Llamacorn Scout. This could account for him gaining skills so fast. Although I remember my other Sims who have none of those traits also gaining skills incredibly fast, too.

@Casperight Yeah, I think those do give a big boost. There could be other factors, there's so many things now, don't know what can influence skills

If you start a fresh save with a brand new Sim for testing purposes and start on one of the starter houses with nothing added, do you also see this ?
  • @Casperight  Top-Tier Toddler boosts ALL skills by 25%, Whiz Kid (If you mean the mentally gifted trait) boosts mental (so some) skills by 20%, and Llamacorn Scout's gives you another 25% boost to ALL skills. So, my dear, welcome to the world of creating a partial super sim! None of these are bugs. They are rewards for good parenting, something I applaud. Also, fair warning, the lot trait "Study Spot" will also boost all skill gaining by 25% so if you aren't into this incredible speed avoid that one.

Edit: You didn't mention it, and I don't know the exact percentage, but if you choose a knowledge aspiration and get quick learner will also boost their speed in learning things.

Edit 2: Oh I forgot there are traits you can pick from aspiration points such as morning sim, night owl, and savant. For others, with the tiny home pack, there are bonuses to the smaller homes that are off the charts, although that last one doesn't apply to you.

  • No more issues occurring. Turns out I just had so many different boosts on the Sim that he leveled like mad. But it was a feature, not a bug.

    Thanks for your help!

  • I have the same "problem", My child has just hit teenager, and wanted to repair something, so made some knife blocks on the woodworking table... 1st block, 5.5 levels, 3.1 blocks to level ten... that's just ridiculous. I've turned off the Tiny households bonus now, but it's still very silly.  All the childhood skills and aspirations, maxed scout, some mod aspirations, and Tiny household. I'm currently looking for mods to take things back to a reasonable difficulty level... It'd be great if the game had a simple slider for how difficult skills are to level. I'd love it if becoming a master craftsman was a lifelong quest, instead of a week's work.
