Romance interactions not available

Ever since the Life and Death update, romance is not working for any of my sims. The only option is giving a romantic gift. Sims are not performing romantic interaction autonomously, and sims (even ones in relationships) cannot share beds. There are other weird issues occurring, as well but none as prominent as the romance issue. The only mods/CC I have are MCCC, MCCC Woohoo, and XML Injector (at the recommendation of a Reddit board). All of the mods are updated for the most recent update.

I have tried common solutions recommended on here like traveling to different lots, switching households, removing the mods folder, deleting the local thumb cache file, downloading XML Injector, and creating a brand new household/save file. Nothing has brought the romance action back, and when I remove the mods folder, the mods are still in game when I launch it???

Does anyone have any recommendations? This is really stressing me out lol. Please let me know if I need to upload any files. Thank you in advance for the help!

    @emma08092003 I figured out my sim’s sexual preferences were somehow incorrect so I fixed them in CAS! Not sure how it happened but problem was resolved once I fixed it. I also didn’t encounter this issue until getting the Life and Death expansion.

    I took XML injector out and re-updated MCCC. I also repaired the game after taking out these mods. Nothing changed in game. Additionally, I doubled checked romantic preferences/family relations like what the commenter below recommended, and everything looked alright. Any other suggestions? I really appreciate the help!

    @emma08092003 Have you tested vanilla? Drag the Mods folder to the desktop, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving.

    Hi!

    Just tested vanilla (took me forever to figure out how to turn MCCC off lol), and the all of the romance interaction came back fixed. Where do I go from here?

    @emma08092003 Start with the Broken/Updated Mods & CC . Redownload anything that was updated, and delete your previous files for it. Check the installation instructions. Note that some mods have not been cleared as compatible with the patch. Don't try those to start.

    Hello everyone!

    I've just updated my pack like two days ago, and i also had problem with the romanctic interaction system. I was scrolling from forums to forums, searching for solutions, but nothing helped.

    For me, what solved the issue was updating XML Injector. If you have XML Injector, you have to UPDATE it (there was an important update in 3 december, from v3 to v4), because even if some of the mods don't use it, it's still neccessary for the interaction bubbles to operate well. For me, that was the main reason why many of the romantic interactions were missing.
