Save Files Corrupted Since Recent Update? Fix?

Hello. Since updating my game to the most recent patch, when I load into my current save file, it jumps me back to the choose a world menu. I've heard this is a common problem since the update, but is there any fix or is my game ruined?


Here is what I have tried:

1. Repairing the game.
2. Updating all my mods/taking certain mods out. It fixed the infinite loading screen but not this issue 🤣
3. Clearing cache files, even deleting the user settings file because I have heard that worked for some people
4. Trying a backup save of the same household, still not working.

5. I even started a new save file with a backup of that family. Still the same issue even in a different save.

Is there any saving my game? I'd be devastated if I have to lose a save file I've been playing for a whole year now.
