scenario, holiday, or event goals

My scenario, holiday, or event goals aren't showing. The entire box is gone from the upper left. I was playing the scenario where you start with no money and have to get 1,000,000 simoleons. I first noticed it on winterfest because I didn't realize it was winterfest and I asked a sim on a date. while on the date he couldn't leave the date and at the end of the date and at 2 am i got hte notification of the bronze level date/winterfest was a failure. The same time this happened I noticed the scenario dropdown was missing as well.
