search bar in build mode crashes my game

I have exactly the same problem. I type the first letter and nothing happens. I type the second letter in the search bar and the game crashes and closes. As soon as I disabled cc and mods I didn't have this problem. And that I eliminated a lot of cc, I have had much more without any problem. I'll do the tests you suggested and if I find the content that triggers it I'll post it here. Thanks!

Every time i use search bar in build mode, my game freezes and then shuts down. I've tried reinstalling the game, repairing it etc. I do have mods and CC, but I've scanned all my files in 4 different programs and it's all up to date and with no conflicts. I don't know what to do anymore and it's soooo hard and annoying building without search bar

My game crashes every time I try to type in build mode . 

My game has been constantly freezing in build mode after typing just one letter into the search bar. Because I can't click anything I have to close the game manually and this usually takes quite a few minutes. I downloaded a lot of cc for my mods folder recently and none of them seem to be corrupt in game, but my game keeps freezing in build mode. I've watched different videos and used different applications on trying to find the corrupt files. I even downloaded the Better Exceptions mod and after a few times of it scanning my mods folder and me deleting the corrupt ones the game still freezes. I've done everything as far as trying to repair the game out of game and using different (new) saves in game. I don't really have the patience do go through every single one of my mods and cc because I don't have them sorted into categories and have a lot. The game play is normal but one of my favorite parts of the game is building. I want to at least be able to search up the things that I want to use in build mode by specific creators and things that aren't shown in the categorized rooms like shelves and ottomans. Please help me understand why my mods and cc are only not allowing me to search up things in build mode. (I play on PC/Laptop and have been using the EA app for quite a few months.)

I didn't say this in the question, but it is a mod/cc issue. I tried running the game without all of my mods and cc and it worked fine. As I said in the question I have a lot and have had more in the past, so it's not the number of mods/cc that I have that's messing up the game. I'm not exactly willing to play without all of my mods/cc, so if someone could give me a solution that doesn't require getting rid of it that would be great!

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? whenever you typing in the search bar to search item in the build mode

What do you expect to see? if I search for example the dining table from the search bar, it will direct me to the searched item

sims 4 is not responding and forces shut whenever I type for an object in the search bar in the build mode

Anytime, I use my search bar to try to find an item within my game. The game will just crash. it doesn't matter if it's a cc item or a base game item. I never had this problem before, then one day I just tried to use it and my game crashed. The kicker is I don't get a last crash or a LE within my folder for me to try and get it fixed.  I understand that I can remove mods and keep trying to see if it is a mod. However, you have to get to the1. Sims screen, 2.  then the resume screen, 3.  then loading screen, 4. then household. just to get to build buy!! Every time!! why do we as the customer have to work so hard just to play the game? why is the so much lag within the game?

Move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game in a new save.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken.
