Hi fellow Simmers! I was just wondering if anyone has unlocked the gates that say something along the lines of "...maybe it'll open next vacation..."? What did you have to do to open them? Thanks!

@sicasev07, that is very probable! 🙂 This was added to give each trip a bit of a different feeling from each other. And I think it makes the jungle feel bigger, as if your Sim is wandering around thinking "I could have sworn there was an abandoned airplane crash right around this corner!?!" 😉 It makes the jungle a bit more mysterious if you can't always reach every spot in it! 😎

When you return for a new vacation they will eventually unlock. It is a game progression feature. How many times have you visited with the same Sim?

At least 5, and I send the entire summer season there too. Have you gotten them to open?

For me, one gate has never opened. And I was at least 30 times in Selvadorada. Maybe during the creation of the game, Maxis resigned from adding the area behind this one gate and it remained as a decoration

It is random which ones are locked each time you visit. All of them are accessible.

Ooohhhh so whenever it was stated that the temple changes each visit, they also meant that the gates too? Like, I feel one of my trips I could not find the plane crash gate. Was that gate locked that vacation?

@sicasev07 I paid close attention to two visits and definitely the gate that was locked before was unlocked and a new one was locked. It is easy to get confused and think the there was only one locked. There is always a gate locked it just randomly changes.

There is one gate that relies on the culture skill, to unlock it, other than that how many gates open that vacation depends on your answers, the temple will change during vacation with a 24 to 48 hour timer, as long as you are not in the jungle neighborhood.
