Sim can't enter home through front door and access home; Possible obstruction?

I've seen similar questions posted regarding Sims not being able to enter their household. I recently purchased Sims 4 (like 2 days ago) and modified and furnished a home I got from my library. After it was complete, I attempted to move her in, but she won't enter their home. It seemed like some sort of obstruction as I noticed feet symbol with an exclamation mark. After chatting with an EA representative, they had me replace the door which did not work, however, then I evicted her and moved her back. I then moved the original door to another location, and they were able to enter the house. The problem is, that they are restricted from entering any other parts of the house (I did some reconfiguring of the space and door location which enabled them to now use the bathroom). But the problem that still exists is that they can't access any other parts of their home. I don't want my Sim to die of starvation or enter some random Sim's home to eat. I'm honestly now sure what to do. I never had this problem with Sims 3. This is so infuriating. I just want to play the game!

  • @Neechan1 I was up all night trying to figure this out. I eventually threw in the towel and went to bed. Back at it today, I messed around with it more through trial and error raising and lowering the foundation and sweet baby Jesus I did it! So I'm not for certain if it was that or assigning the front door as "front door?" I'm just going to leave it as that because I can leave that stress behind and finally play the game (God forbidden something else comes up). Now I noticed with all the changes made I don't see my roof even with walls up, down, or changing floors? I'm not going to worry too much about it as now my Sim can fully utilize her house. Yeah!

  • I have no idea, but do you mind sharing the ID of the house so I can place it in my world to see if I have the same issues?

  • I'll do that. I made it very clear to the numerous representatives I spoke with but you're probably right because they just guide you to suggestions instead of actively assist with solving the issue.

You would need to add a landing before the door and then add stairs to that. Perhaps look at how other houses are built.

EA Sports do not have anything to do with the Sims 4 and probably thought you were asking about something else.

  • Hi jpkarlsen. Interesting. I'll look at both options suggested. So If I add stairs, do they need to be placed in a particular spot? I'll obviously need to add a second level since its one floor.

What is the WC? I didn't get a warning that the move objects on cheats have been used nor did I see in the description it was "playtested." When speaking with the last EA sports representative, they said others have complained about this particular issue and they're working on a resolution. We'll see when and if that happens. Thank you for your suggestions. I'll give them a try.

For picture 1 you need to add stairs or lower the foundation.

For the other the WC was placed too close to the door using a cheat. When you placed the lot from the Gallery you got a warning that the Move Objects On cheat had been used. Unfortunately not all builders that use this cheat checks that everything works. Look for if the description of the lot on the gallery says "playtested"
