Sim dies on first day for no reason with no animations

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.96.365.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cottage Living Seasons
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It happened right when my sim was about to wake up.
What happens when the bug occurs? Sim dies suddenly with no reason or animations.
What do you expect to see? My sim not dying for no reason on the first day of a new game??
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

??

Not sure how I'm supposed to disable mods and then see if the issue still occurs - my sim is DEAD there is no way for me to get the sim back. This happened literally five minutes into me playing the game on a new world I spent ages designing ☹️(
I saved before I realised what had happened so I have no way of getting my sim back.

Whenever you spend ages designing a sim, remember to save it in the library, that way you can avoid imminent disappointment when the game crashes or something catastrophic happens, which will because this is The Sims 4.

  • Take a look in your library for your sim, the game saves them automatically when you create them if you started it as a new household. If you used cc on them then make sure to check advanced options, show custom content.

    Best regards,
    Jennifer

  • You can also recover a previous save - the game keeps the last 5 or so times you saved.

As a general rule, you should always take mods out when a new update is released and test them before opening saves you care about. When it’s something as big as infants and the socialization reorg, you should absolutely back everything up and remove the entire mod folder before downloading the update; then test the game to see if there’s any bugs inherent in the game before gradually adding mods back a bit at a time and testing. Only when you’ve removed or updated any broken mods is it safe to go back to important saves.
