Sim dies on first day for no reason with no animations

Whenever you spend ages designing a sim, remember to save it in the library, that way you can avoid imminent disappointment when the game crashes or something catastrophic happens, which will because this is The Sims 4.

Take a look in your library for your sim, the game saves them automatically when you create them if you started it as a new household. If you used cc on them then make sure to check advanced options, show custom content.

You can also recover a previous save - the game keeps the last 5 or so times you saved.

As a general rule, you should always take mods out when a new update is released and test them before opening saves you care about. When it’s something as big as infants and the socialization reorg, you should absolutely back everything up and remove the entire mod folder before downloading the update; then test the game to see if there’s any bugs inherent in the game before gradually adding mods back a bit at a time and testing. Only when you’ve removed or updated any broken mods is it safe to go back to important saves.
