sim keeps running away

my sim keeps running away from his house and he doesn't follow my commands. i reset him but he just keeps running away so i have to speed it and wait till he comes back which usually takes a few sim hours. its really annoying and it happens all the time. he just runs off even if his needs are down.

    @2014201120082006  Before you go to the drastic step of deleting the houshold, try moving the sim to a different house and back.  If that doesn't work, switch to playing a different household and back.  Each time you move or switch households, quit to desktop and reload.  Use "save as" to rename the save the first time, so you create a new save to experiment with; the old save will be intact under its previous name.

    @2014201120082006 Yea, I would definitely take my suggestion as a last resort.

    Wouldn't hurt to delete your game's cache files either. It won't effect the gameplay at all and stands a chance of helping.

    I think I just ran into this bug.  Have no idea what triggered it. There was a storm outside and my sim just started running around in circles. The task kept resetting itself and re-starting. I tried cancelling it but it didn't work. Tried the cheat teleport command and it was ignored. Any commands I gave it were cancelled. It's like the sim was in an endless loop of "running from storm".

    I ended up pausing the game, reset the sim, activated the teleport command, unpaused it and it worked. Haven't had the problem since.

    Very weird.

    @Psychotps i tried to make my sim stop but he just kept doing it so i just ended up saving him to the gallery, deleting him and making a new one. he didn't really have any relationships so it was ok. anyway, when my sim was running it said he was doing nothing. like as if he was just standing still.

    @2014201120082006   Mine was flashing the movement task. The one that appears when you tell your sim to go somewhere. It would come up and immediately vanish only to immediately re-appear. It's why I couldn't cancel it. It was already cancelled only to re-appear.

    It happened again not long after I reset the sim, I ended up giving the sim the "Storm Chaser" trait so she wasn't scared of storms and it hasn't happened again.

    I think the "run from storm" animation is broken.
