Sims 4 Buildmode and moodlet glitch

I’m having this glitch where when I go out of build mode my game pauses but doesn’t let me control my sim i have the option to click objects but nothing actually pops up, the only thing I can see is the right corner but the manage worlds icon is gone. I can’t exit and save so all my progress or anything I’ve been doing gets deleted as I have to force quit my game just to leave it. I also 

I exited CAS and my moodlets were blue squares and the sim picture was gone, as well as the actions bar is clear and missing. I do use mods and I tried removing ui cheats as someone said to try that but nothing changed, i also repaired my game but it didn’t change either. Someone please help me!! I’m not sure what to do and it sucks because I can’t play my game. It also did it i

 another save file but then randomly switched back to normal.

    @SAllega5 Please do a "vanilla" test: Drag the entire Mods folder to the desktop (or rename it, but I find it easier to move it to a complete different location that's clearly within view). Then delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving.

    Okay thank you I will try that but what exactly am I testing? Am I testing if mods or cc are the problem? Or do I do the vanilla test then put my mods folder back and that should fix it?

    I’ve done the vanilla test and it turns out to be mod related. 

    I tried the 50/50 method but once I put all the safe mods back into my sims mod files the game still glitched. I’m not sure what’s going on but I’m very confused and quite stressed out still, I’m not sure what to do going forward.

    ooo I’m having the exact same issue, although it only seems to happen if I enter build mode, normal game play is fine until I enter build mode. I’m using a PS4 so if anyone has any tips for PS users - please let me know.
