Sims 4 crashing after installing Horse Ranch with no error message

I've tried and tried and tried to no avail figuring what is causing my Sims 4 game to crash with no error message. I've repaired the game, uninstalled the reinstalled, tried the 50/50 method to figure out if any particular mod is causing an issue, but I still run into the same problem that my game will start but then almost immediately crash with no error message. Does anyone know how to read the LastCrash reports that the Sims 4 publishes in your documents folder. I have a feeling it might be an issue with my new computer but all my drivers are updated.

  • @cosgrovejam  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If you get another crash, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

  • Same for me.... its has been 2 days now that all i do is try to fix the game, could not even play with it at all yet. And my system is supported and everything updated

@bibsz4160  Please try the clean folder described in post 2.  If it doesn't work, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Thank you for your advice - I’ve been busy at work and haven’t had a chance to look into this more - is it possible to send across this weekend. Sorry for the delay!!

So I FINALLY figured it out. Issue was caused by too many sub folders in my Mods folder. I brought everything into the main Mods folder and it worked!
