Sims 4 Downloaded Houses Not Appearing In Library

I downloaded 3 houses. Two are from soulsistersims and one is from Barbara Sims. Both of them aren't appearing in my library.

I have script mods enabled

I extracted the zip file

I put the 0x000 in my tray folder, they are not in a subfolder

I put the cc in my mods folder

I went down advanced and clicked 'Include Custom Content'

I updated my game

I repaired my game

The weirdest part is that I have maybe 5 houses from PralineSims that I downloaded in December. I deleted the tray files and cc but I restored it. Those 5 builds are showing up but the new 3 builds aren't.

I don't know what to do!

@serendiqiity  The game won't read the contents of Documents > Electronic Arts > Tray.  Everything needs to be in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Tray.

@xxkeeleypxx I'm thinking it may be useful to you to read through the information on the Legacy Edition on this webpage: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2019/11/sims-4-legacy-edition-2/

Since the Legacy Edition will not include or accept/need any updates or new packs since Realm of Magic, I would guess that it may be possible that if you added any Mods/CC after that time or which were updated to accommodate packs or game versions from after the release of the Legacy Edition you may run the risk of a conflict with your edition - or that may be the reason the CC is not showing up now?

The Legacy Edition does not include the Gallery and cannot download things you choose from the gallery. Please see the link above for more information and a more thorough explanation.

@Ds4314 Does your tray folder have any folders inside of it (the game cannot read folders inside it, only files)? For example, in my tray folder I only see files (not folders) who's name ends with things like .bpi, .sgi, .hhi, .trayitem, .rmi, .room, .blueprint, .householdbinary. Those are the files my library can read in my game.

  • Hello, I was having the same problem and after a while I noticed that on the left side where the check marks and stuff are, I noticed that under ADVANCED: I didn’t have include custom content checked and show all under Packs so make sure those two things are chosen.

@lokester_03 Just for a note, if you check 'Show Custom Content' and 'Show All Packs', then your searches will also bring up lots/rooms/households that include content you may not own, in which case the items/content you don't own in any of these lots/rooms/households will be removed by the game when placed.

Last I knew the game also will replace some of these removed items, so it's good to be aware of this. (For instance, in a gamesave where I had only loaded basegame, I placed a lot I had made that I had fencing around part of the pool from a non-basegame pack, and the game replaced it with a different fencing... which, btw, looked awful! 😉).

Having said all of that, though, if you have all packs checked many, many more items will come up in your searches, and it's always worth placing something with items you don't own. I've sometimes done this and could not tell what was missing and it worked out great, or a minor amount of items were removed and all I needed to do was go through the lot and see what I needed to re-add from packs I owned.

  • Hey so uhm I'm kind of new to downloading rooms and lots but, I know how to download them and which folder to put them in.
The problem is that, I don't see any of them! I downloaded 2 and extracted them both then, I put all of the folders in the 'Tray' folder and they still won't show.
Can you please help me ?

@KAYLEEXYZ I expect you know, then, that what is in your tray folder is what is in your Library in the game. When you added the new files to the tray folder did you take them out of any other folder they came in? Your tray folder will not have any other folders inside of it, just files of various types, depending on if they are for a Sim, Room, or Lot.

I would also recommend that you save a backup copy of your tray folder on your desktop before experimenting with adding to it this way. For that matter, it would be good to save a backup of whole 'The Sims 4' folder onto your desktop before experimenting.

Note, it may be useful for some reference to look over this post that explains what combination of files are for Rooms, Sims, and Lots: https://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=26535.0#post_FS4HLR
