WinterWolf34526 Does this happen with no mods or custom content? You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.
Please also let me know whether there are any occults among the played households' sims.
It doesn't happen with mods disabled and none of the sims are occults
If by any chance you have Simvestigations from Zerbu and BetterExceptions, apparently that causes infinite loading. (A piece of info I just happened to come across not 20 minutes ago.)
