Sims 4 Parenthood

Hi I'm a little confused I usually never play with children in the game so it's kinda new for me.

My female sim got pregnant from male sim 1, but then got in a relationship with male sim 2. the baby was born and male sim 2 had the option to ''accept to be a father for the child'' even if it isn't biologically his, he accepted. since he accepted, he's the one who can discipline the child, male sim 1 ( the actual father ) can't discipline the child. I went to look in CAS to be sure and it is stated that male sim 1 is the father for the child, while male sim 2 is only a ''houshold member''. Both male sim 1 and 2 live with the child and are both very present and have both pretty much the same ''friendship'' level with the child.

In the ''sim profile'' it is also stated for male sim 2 that ''he and female sim had a child together'' but it is not stated that male sim 1 (the real father) had a child with her. but if i click on the profil of the child it says male sim 1 is father and male sim 2 non-biological father.... What can i do for male sim 1 to be able to discipline his child? and is there a way for the 3 parents to do so? if yes please let me know, if only 2 parents can i would like the actual father to be able to and right now he can't.... THANK YOU

  • @dbatcjm Hello!  I'm wondering if your issue is related to a mod.  I tested it in my game but didn't see the "accept as father" option nor the issues you described.  I had a sim get pregnant by Male 1, then began a relationship with Male 2.  All three sims are in the same household.  When the baby was born, there were no parental options for the baby.  When the baby aged up to toddler, the only parental option was under Toddler care which was the option for Male 2 to "adopt as care dependent".  The toddler made a mess and both Male 1 and Male 2 had the option to discipline the toddler.  Looking at the sim profiles, Male 1 has the "father" relationship and Male 2 has the "caregiver" relationship.  Male 2 does not have a "non-biological father" label.  In the genealogy, Male 1 shows as the father and Male 2 does not appear at all.
