Sims 4 sims keep gathering and wont go home!

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.97.62.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Digital deluxe, Cats&Dogs, Seasons, Toddler stuff, Parenthood, My first pet stuff, Island living, Holiday celebration pack, LIfe of the party digital content, Up all night digital content
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? All I have to do is either go to another lot or stay at home. At the moment in game, its winter and there's a skating rink in the neighborhood amenities of Newcrest.
What happens when the bug occurs? Due to it being winter currently, sims are at the rink either watching other sims skating or doing so. They also will stand around, distract my dogs, no matter what the heck I do they won't go home and I can't even interact with them. This includes mods and cheats, none of which make a difference to fix it and they still start turning blue after a while, get real nasty grunge, some of them do the broken heart thing with the thought bubble and sad looks. I don't think any of them eat either, so while I'm at home having my sims do indoor stuff, I'm watching these randos slowly kill themselves because of this weirdo bug.
What do you expect to see? I expect the sims to go home and take care of themselves instead of standing just off of my sim's lot practically starving and freezing to death out in the snow while just staying idle. That's literally it, I expect to see them LIVE, not...be like this.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I'm seeing a mix of workers and non working sims, postal workers and food stall sims. Etc. This also happens with other players, I'm apparently not alone in this so I really don't think its the mods. This all started after the most recent update, I've never seen it before. I added in a screenshot of one of the groups, with some others in the back. Sucks to see them slowly decay like this.

  • ....I'm not sure what mod caused it, but I guess it really was one of them. So far without the mods there's no issues on both old and new saves. Kinda feel dumb now, though I'll make damn sure to keep all of this in mind.

  • @Gosheharushi To be sure, this happens if you remove all your mods and delete the localthumbcache file as well ? Reports in the bug forum always need to be tested on vanilla (even if you've seen other reports elsewhere).

Can you replicate it on a new save as well ?

@Gosheharushi   Hi!  If you're interested in finding the problem mod, click the spoiler below for the steps I use to test them.  I hope this helps!

    Spoiler

    1. Create a new game for testing so that your current save is left unchanged until you've identified the problem mods/CC.

    2. Create some folders on your desktop; perhaps one labeled "Tested Safe Mods-CC", another labeled "Mods-CC Needs Testing" and one more labeled "Broken Mods-CC" so you know which ones to check for updates. This will keep tested mods/CC separated.

    3. Exit the game if you haven't already, and divide your mods/CC in half; put one half in the Needs Testing folder and put/keep the other half into the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 / Mods folder.

    4. Delete the localthumbcache.package file, located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game with the half you're testing,

    5. If the game works with that half, exit the game, move that half to the Safe Mods-CC folder and move the remaining "Needs Testing" mods back to the Mods folder to test (Again, delete that cache file before opening the game.)

    6. Once you know which half is causing the issue, divide those in half, keeping one half in the "Needs Testing" folder and one half in your Mods folder, and test again (delete the cache file each time after moving mods/CC and before opening the game) and moving mods/CC not causing problems into the Safe folder.

    7. Repeat this process until you find all that are broken.
