@mollynbella Please do this test:
- Make sure that your antivirus software is permitting access to the user folder
- Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop.
- Launch Sims 4 and exit.
- Download a CC item (instead of using a file you've already tested). I usually pick a peacemaker furniture because I know I can trust it's working.
- Install that one single item in your new Mods folder
- Start the game, create a new save, and see if it works
nope ☹️

@mollynbella Having no CC can't stop you from creating a new save.
Please try this, using these exact steps in this order:
- Go to Documents > Electronic Arts
- Rename the folder that's called The Sims 4
- Start the game
- Select "Load"
Come back and tell me if the game and tell me these things:
- If the game behaved like you were launching it for the first time ever
- If there were any saves that could be loaded

yes the game behaved like i was launching it for the first time ever. all my saves have gone. the problem is the game wont launch what so ever with cc in my mods folder. i have downloaded all new cc, its not a mod issue, its the game glitching. my friend's game launches as normal with all the same cc files as me.

@mollynbella Okay. Next thing I'd like you to check is your antivirus: ANTIVIRUS
https://answers.ea.com/t5/PC/CURRENT-ISSUE-Anti-Virus-blocking-User-Folder-Screenshots/td-p/9572695 I know that says "screenshots," but it can affect the Mods folder too.You can copy your old Saves files back into your new Saves folder. (This is a normal part of the testing process.) You can also copy back UserSettings.ini, Tray folders, Screenshots/Videos. And reset your game options.
