Sims 4 won't launch-- tried everything

When I try to launch the game, the EA app closes for a few seconds and then brings me right back to the Sims 4 page in my library. This issue started randomly about two days ago, so I went about my typical troubleshooting (removing new mods, repairing the game, etc.) which didn't help. I've tried updating my mods through curseforge (and manually updating those not on curseforge), uninstalling and re-installing the game, clearing the cache, deleting local/roaming app data, removing my original Sims 4 folder to force the game to create a new one, downloading software to find broken mods, and so on

I tried launching the game with an empty mods folder, which allowed to game to run. I have no clue how to find whatever is causing this issue, as my game was working just fine the other day, and removing any mods I'd downloaded since then didn't solve the problem. I really appreciate any help or advice regarding this issue; this has been driving me crazy and I really don't want to lose what I've been working on in-game (or my 2k mods/custom content that had been working just fine until this weekend) ☹️  Thank you in advance to anyone who may help!
