Sims are immortal and won't die

When trying to kill a sim, they just won't die. I created a family in CAS and tried to kill one of the Sims by starving them, they're a male Sim and are not able to be impregnated but when their hunger got to -100, they did the granola bar animation pregnant Sims do. I also tried to kill them using the pool method, their energy got to -100 and nothing happened, as well as poor quality pufferfish, cowplant, freezing them to death, and the telescope. I also tried overexertion with an elder Sim but after 10 woohoos, they still wouldn't die.

I've done the same with multiple Sims (Bob Pancakes and Angela Pleasant as an example) and the same thing happens. None of these Sims are pregnant or immortal so this shouldn't be happening.

I've tried in multiple new save files without mods enabled, deleted cache and reset my mods folder but I still have the same issue

The only mod I have installed is MCCC, which should not affect death, I've also made sure death is enabled using the cheat in the command bar.

  • @crinrict After resetting my mods folder again I've discovered that it's an issue with MCCC. Thank you for your help though!

@crinrict Yes, I've removed mods, reset my mod folder and started in a fresh vanilla save but still having the issue.

@MiaxMercury Have you tried the killer rabbit cheat ? Does that also not work ? There are some sims that are immortal but not the ones you described.

Are there any lastException files created when they are supposed to die ?

@crinrict Yes, the cheat doesn't work either. I don't get any lastException files when trying to kill a Sim. I tried again in a fresh save file without mods on, I played the Goth family and tried to kill Mortimer by starving him, he also did the granola bar animation pregnant Sims do. As far as I'm aware, there's no settings in-game that causes Sims to become immortal, so I'm really not sure what could be causing this issue

@MiaxMercury I just killed mine with the cheat with no issues.

Have you ever tried renaming the entire user folder (not just mods) and then repaired the game ?

Let me know if you need detailed instructions.

@crinrict Does renaming the user folder reset the game? I'd be devastated to lose my saves, what exactly do I have to do?

@MiaxMercury No, you just move it out of the game to test and then you can move it back

    Here's instructions:

    • Close the game
    • Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
    • Repair the game
    • Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. Be aware that your claimed event rewards will also be gone for the time being but you will get them back with your other things.
    • Start a new save game
    • Check if you still have the error
    • Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
