Sims can no longer become pregnant

Hi there,

So I've been having trouble with my sims 4 game recently and basically my sims can no longer get pregnant. The try for baby interaction is still available however it never results in pregnancy. I've checked my MCC woohoo settings and my try for baby percent keeps defaulting back to 0. I've tried removing all my mods (except MCC, which is up to date), tried different households, moved my family to a new home, and even factory reset my game but I am still running into the same issue. None of my sims are able to get pregnant, not even through WW interactions. Has anyone else ran into this issue or know of any fixes?

  • @questocean Please try removing the localthumbcache.package file also, after removing the Mods/CC. If that does not fix the issue, try removing all Mods/CC and the cache file as described in the spoiler tag below. I would start with testing MCC, since that's the one you have not tried removing. Just because a Mod/CC is up to date does not mean that the maker addressed all conflicts that may have arisen.

    Spoiler
Move your Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then check in a new game save to see if this issue is still occurring. If the issue is gone, please re-add the Mods/CC one at a time until you find the one causing the issue. If you have a lot of Mods/CC you can try the 50/50 Method. You can do all of this testing without saving in order to identify which CC/Mods are causing the issue, then remove or add updated version(s) of the Mod/CC causing the issue.

Please let us know how it goes. Thanks!

Edit... I have been made aware that both WW and MCCC have pregnancy-oriented settings, and that you may also want to try adjusting settings on those two Mods?

  • @questocean  MCCC settings are stored in a file in the same directory as the mod.  Has this file somehow become read-only?

You might want to find mc_settings.cfg and dragging it to your desktop and seeing if that solves the problem.

  • Hey, did you fix the problem, because i have this issue right now and it went away when i redownloaded mccc but i came back. So did you solve the problem?

@jasjelol I am not a Mods person, but I will do my best.... You said re-downloaded MCCC (which I assume means you added an updated version of the Mod) and it fixed the issue. Have there been any updates to the game &/or to the Mod since that download version of it was added to your game? Do you have any other Mods/CC? Also, when you added the updated Mod did you remove the cache file?

    How to delete cache:
    • Exit your game and Origin
    • Go to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4
    • Delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder (your game will re-create this folder next time you open the game)

MCCC has pregnancy settings in it. Have you checked those? Also, I am told that some other Mods have pregnancy settings that may or may not override those you set in MCCC, so you may want to check if it's related to something like that.

Hope something there is helpful. 🙂
