- @Kiesha__Heyward Let's start with a test to find out if the problem is in your Mods folder or somewhere else.
1. Drag your whole Mods folder to your desktop, so that it's gone from the Sims 4 folder.
2. Delete the file called localthumbcache.
3. Start Sims 4 and load up your game. Does it work now? If so, we can start finding the culprit. If not, we can look at other possibilities. - Kiesha__Heyward2 years agoRising Novice
ive tried that multiple times
- @Kiesha__Heyward Okay, let's see, then if it's some corruption in your save. Without that Mods folder, start a new game from the Main Menu and see how that behaves.

I made a new sims 4 folder to see if that worked n it did a little bit but my sims still load up slow, i tried it with n without mods then with CC, its probably something hidden in my CC folders.
- @Kiesha__Heyward There are a couple of ways to approach this, then. One is to use a Broken Mods list like the one I run on the Sims 4 Forums, linked from here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Game-and-Mod-CC-Issues/Mods-and-CC-Known-Bugs-and-Issues-July-18th-2023-Game-Update/td-p/12735902. That will catch *some* issues for you.
Beyond that, you can do a 50-50 on your Mods folder. This means organizing the files there into bite-size batches and testing one batch at a time. For each test, delete the file called localthumbcache, then put only that batch in Mods. If your game behaves as you expect, set that batch aside as "cleared" and delete localthumbcache again. If it doesn't behave as you expect, take out half the batch and see if you're closer to finding the culprit. Remember to delete localthumbcache each time. You'll find some 50-50 method tutorials online too. Once you isolate the file, you can go find out if there's an updated version. - Kiesha__Heyward2 years agoRising Novice
okay I'll try that
- Kiesha__Heyward2 years agoRising Novice@luthienrising I found out it's my sliders but idk which one's it is, all the sliders haven't been updated since 2022
@Kiesha__HeywardStart by assuming it's more than one of them -- a patch will often break *multiple* sliders, rarely one. Test them one by one to see which are outdated. You can also work backward through Broken Mod lists starting at this one, which may have sliders on it: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/1009959/broken-updated-mods-cc-july-2023-horse-ranch-patch/p1. For ones that are outdated, it's worth looking for newer ones. I've seen some recently replacing really old ones.
