Does does sound like the mod is being recognized if you have partial functionality.
Mods aren't really supported by EA/Maxis

I've just received a reply from the creator of the mod however all she said was 'your script for the personality system are too deep in your folder'. I'm not sure what this means and have tried to look it up but am only seeing things to do with 'merging files' which is a whole other process. Do you know what I have to do to resolve this?
Thank you 🙂

So this usually means that you have to many folders
from example if your folders look like this:
Mods folder --> Slice of life folder --> Sims --> Slice of life personalities folder
there are too many folders which means it's in to deep.
so check your folders that they are only one folder deep
for example
Mods folder --> Slice of life folder
and then everything with the slice of life folder is there
I hope this helps x

@SkyhunterXoX Any mod that changes how the game works will use something called a .ts4script file. The game will only go one-level deep in your Mods folder when looking for .ts4script files. This is why they must be placed no more than one sub-folder deep in your Mods folder. Also, for script mods to work you have to enable them in your game settings. Go into the Game Options screen click the Other tab and verify that the boxes for "Enable Custom Content and Mods" and "Script Mods Allowed" are checked.
