stuck on loading screen after selecting house to move into

i recently downloaded the game onto my pc and updated it to the most recent version. everything in the game was working fine up until i tried to move my household into a house, where i am stuck on the loading screen. i have tried repairing the game, shutting down my pc and then retrying, but neither of these have worked. i am currently reinstalling the game after uninstalling it to see if that will work. is there anything i can do?
