Greetings.I have some few furniture CC, and one day I noticed that some of them (not all) had weird markings on the items that wasn't there before. It looked like the item had bumps and weird thick in depth lines, bottom line is that the item is not suppose to look like that, so yeah. What the cause of the texture going bonkers?

Hi @Zafireria it happened after the patch on May 17. These bumps are bumpmap texture (the one that is showing like bumps under the main texture) which is suppose to be the same size as main texture but some creators made it smaller in the past (this way of creating textures was working before). Probably EA has changed the way game processes (renders? sees?) CC items. I believe all creators have to redo their objects changing the size of bumpmap textures to match the sizes of main textures. Recently there was a discussion regarding this issue on Sims4Studio forum. You can read the explanation why did it happen here.

@Feyona Interesting. I noticed that some items went back to normal after I deleted the localthumbcache and spotlight even tho I always delete those when I add or remove CC of any kind. I had some eyelashes that was really weird but went back to normal after deleting those two, but then some of the items (that suffered from those bumps) got like much worse than before while others were fixed o.O

Fixing bump maps is super easy, but it's a long tedious process if the problem appears on a lot of items. I haven't really checked all my objects lately, but if I were you, I'd pick the ones I absolutely love and give up the rest.

I'm on mobile, but there's a lot of tutorials on how to do this, you just need to make sure it's the same size as the texture.

Actually that would be nice if you'd contacted some creators since these people create CC for free so everybody can enjoy CC in the game *until next patch breaks it*. But of course it's not mandatory :). If you are willing to fix some favorite items yourself you can use tray importer program to find all the files. You just need to create a simple house (may be even empty lot would work) and place all favorite objects on the ground. Then use tray importer to find that lot in Tray folder and archive it. It will archive with all subfolders (so convenient!). When you either kill or alter all bumpmaps you can put all your files back in Mods. And you don't have to look for each file separately, just move all subfolders and they will replace old files. I don't think I need to explain how Windows works but just want to assure that it's easier than probably seems when you start thinking about adjusting all the files :).

The creators i got the stuff from are pretty popular so i am sure they have already been spammed with msg about it.
Not sure what you mean about tray importer and replace old files. Got any tutorials?

@SimGuruModSquad I didnt have time to go trough my cc for the best example, but here's one i found. It has a blak bump, but you can see the shading is wrong on it because of size difference. Just in 10 minutes i found a dozen of items with this problem, something is definitely off.

Sorry @Zafireria, I don't. Tray importer just helps you locate files. I have links to stuff like that. I have no clue when it comes to making or fixing CC,

@SimGuruModSquad no i have not changed lightning settings nor gotten a new graphic card. I have it on very high and the couch worked fine till the patch before the cas change was applied. Then it started to "act" up.
