The Sims 4: One of my Sims won't follow commands

I don't have any mods installed, but one of my sims refuses to do anything he just stands there and complains about his need to use the bathroom I can't even cancel his tasks let alone make him accept new ones. When I click on the toilet and tell him to use it there is no icon showing the command has been queued.

    Hi @SharkTRipface

    have you tried traveling to another lot and then back to see if that solves the issue ?

    Maybe even move out the family and back in.

    I just had this issue and spoke to an EA Advisor on the phone.

    Moving them out won't make a difference. 

    All you have to do is TRAVEL to another lot (with the whole family). Make sure you complete the action of traveling rather than just viewing the map. That worked for me when I'd already tried every repair/reset troubleshooting step there is.
