Unable to load into manage worlds, Better Exceptions UI Exception Report v3.13

I really need help. My issue started last night when I was unable to change my lot type from rental to residential. It was greyed out. I was able to find a workaround but as I was in build mode, I noticed my came was very laggy. I saved my game after spending 4 hours in build mode. I tried to get on Sims this morning and when I loaded into my saved game, the house I spent hours on is now gone. The lot is completely empty. I then get a better exception report about tunable_perf when going into build mode. When I try to load into manage worlds, I get the Better Exceptions UI Exception Report v3.13 error that pops up in my browser, and my game is frozen. I exit the game and create a new save. I can create a new save and load it into the game. But again when trying to go to manage world I get the Better Exceptions UI Exception Report v3.13 error and my game is stuck frozen on the loading screen. I then try the 50/50 method. That got me nowhere because if I take everything out of my mods folder, I still get the message with just the BE installed (it is updated by the way). I back up my Sims 4 folder, then I change the name of my Sims 4 folder to Sims 4 old. I repair the game. I load into the game and create a new Sims 4 folder. I created a household and played for about 10 minutes. I then exit the game and delete the saves & tray folder from the new Sims 4 folder and I copy & paste the saves & tray from the old to the new Sims 4 folder. I update my mods again for the 100th time. I placed only my updated mods into the new Sims 4 folder. I load my game again and low & behold, the lot is still empty and I still get the error. Let me express again that I just updated the mods within the past hour, so they are up to date. I have attached screenshots. I would really appreciate any help! I hope the save file is not corrupted. That is the last thing I need to hear and will make me really repressed and not play the game anymore. Wasted time. I have tried to recover the game with my many saves from it but I get the same outcome. I have also cleared my cache by deleting the thumb cache package a million times.

  • @asj1316 A tunable_perf error means you have an outdated script mod. Are you still getting that error after updating mods?

Please try this also (I know, you've done a lot of this already!):

    1. Drag Mods to the desktop
    2. Delete localthumbcache
    3. Try opening that save and build again
    4. If that fails, try opening the previous version of that same save.

This it to test if your build is recoverable. When you put mods back into the new Mods folder after this, double check the installation of each one.

  • Hey, I know that this is an older post... I just stumbled across it after having a similar error. I, too, had a lot that I switched from residential rental to residential after I realized that the lag I was experiencing was from building on a residential rental lot. After saving and exiting my game, attempting to load the following day also rendered me with a BE error message, as well as a perpetual load screen. After fiddling with my mods unsuccessfully for a few hours (I also had a tunable_perf error; as the other commenter mentioned, this is a script mod issue, and will require removing the affected .package file), I removed For Rent from my installed DLC, and was able to load the file as normal.

Of course, the affected lot was blank upon loading. However, I was able to recover the remaining lots and households on my save, and ended up making a new save with all of those after adding For Rent back in. I'm fairly sure you would be able to continue playing on the same save after a re-load, but letting the game register For Rent data as missing seems to be the only fix for this. For me at least, it was not a mod issue.

I can certainly empathize with your frustration. I wish you the best with your save file.
