Vacation rental lot type crashes

I’ve been having trouble opening the vacation rental in Granite Falls. I did the usual and removed my mods folder to test it, and yes I could load into vacation rentals in both new and existing saves. I put back my script mods and everything still works. When I add in my cc folder that’s when lot starts to load then crash. By the way when I removed my whole mods folder the vacation rental lot type still took the longest to load in.

So I do the 50/50 method to find out what cc is causing the issue. I have over 500gb of cc (yes a lot I know) i take out all the cc I downloaded the month before and the lot finally loads then I start narrowing it down but I notice that there no correlation to the cc causing my game to crash. As in I put 40 cc items in a “test” folder and the lot crashes but if I split that same folder into two, so the same 20 items in at a time and put them in each time after loading my game  the lot successfully loads each time. So my cc items were not broken.

I’d like to add i tried fixing my clothing and furniture cc in s4s but the application said there was nothing to fix and most of the cc I download were from this year. I also have my mods and cc installed in an external drive, the “la cie rugged ssd 2tb”.

Anyway I was baffled on how a specific piece of cc wasn’t the problem. So I continued adding small batches of cc but then that method stop working. Then I tried loading the game in windowed mode, it first crash but when I tried again (without removed any cc) it worked again and loading in the lot. I’m so confused about what is happening.

My only conclusion is that I have too much cc that my computer or game can’t load it in. The thing is I’m able to enter every other type of lot, residential, residential rental, park, gym, beach etc.

  • barbjatkin The game is going to have issues with that much CC. At some point you're likely to have many duplicate files, many old files, files that are merged so you can't find them if they're listed in Previously Broken mods and CC or the current pinned Broken Mods and CC thread, files that had special installation instructions you may have missed, files whose requirements have changed, and files that conflict with each other.

I recommend testing only those new files, in a refreshed Mods folder (rename the old one, delete localthumbcache), and adding them gradually, to help narrow down conflicts. Do also check the known broken content lists here. When you add your other CC back after solving this issue, do it in batches.

Use this as a chance to reorganize and pare back to make your folder more manageable. I recommend organizing by creator name, as a way to narrow down duplicates. Delete files that are merged multi-creator files (and avoid these generally). Consider deleting things you've had for a long time but have never used.
